ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The "Ancient Theater and the Cinema" exhibit is currently on display at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg.

Here are 5 things to know about the exhibit:

  1. It’s meant to show how Greek theater inspired modern films.
  2. Objects representing Greek theater are surrounded by still film images.
  3. The stills include 17 groups of movies from 1927-1985.
  4. Also in the exhibit is a statue of Dionysus, the god of wine and theater, which the curator called “the most amazing and the highest quality” image of the god that has survived.
  5. The exhibit is on display until April 5.
