CLEARWATER, Fla. — A death investigation is taking place in Clearwater after a construction worker fell from the roof of a two-story apartment building.

According to officials, a roofing job was taking place at the Palms of Clearwater Apartments at 25 N. Belcher Road at the time of the accident.
Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to the scene shortly after 9:30 a.m. Officials said the fall occurred from the rear side of Building E.
Details of what happened have not been released.
The victim, who was a part of the roofing crew, has been identified as Carlos Alejandro Hernandez-Nopaltecatl, 28, of Zellwood.
