TAMPA, Fla. — A hearing is scheduled Tuesday for the man accused of killing four people in Seminole Heights.

According to court records, attorneys for Howell Donaldson III are scheduled to update the judge on the case.

Donaldson, 26, is charged with four counts of first-degree murder. The prosecution is seeking the death penalty in this case.

Earlier this month, a judge ruled a jail conversation between Donaldson and his parents could not be released to the public.

His attorneys said releasing the calls would harm their client's chance at a fair trial.

Donaldson's defense, as well as the prosecution are expected to discuss the jail house calls during the hearing.

The slayings in the fall of 2017 left the community on edge and received national news coverage.

It started when 22-year-old Benjamin Mitchell was shot to death Oct. 9.

Two days later, 32-year-old Monica Hoffa, was slain. And on Oct. 19, Anthony Naiboa, 20, was killed after taking the wrong bus home from his new job. On Nov. 14, 60-year-old Ronald Felton was shot and killed.

Donaldson III was arrested Nov. 28.
