DADE CITY, Fla. — The suspect in a Pasco County shooting and carjacking and subject of an overnight manhunt has been taken into custody.

Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco announced Thursday morning that Luis Tull, 36, is now in custody.

According to deputies, Tull shot a man and stole a vehicle overnight in the parking lot of a Wesley Chapel-area McDonald's.

Authorities said there was an altercation between Tull and another man at the McDonald's on State Road 54 near County Road 54 late Wednesday. 

Deputies said Tull shot the man in the parking lot and when someone from the drive-thru got out of his car to help, Tull stole that person's car. The vehicle was abandoned near US 98 in Dade City. 

The man wounded in the shooting was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The man whose vehicle was stolen was not injured. 

The overnight search, which intensified overnight, has shifted to the Dade City area. 

Nocco is expected to release additional information during a news conference Thursday afternoon.
