ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The front that stalled in our region today will result in a comfortable Friday morning with morning lows mainly in the 60s.

After the pleasant morning we will see humidity increase along with rain showers moving in from the Gulf of Mexico.  That will keep the high temperatures in the low 80s.

Winds will turn breezy Friday night into Saturday morning as the tropical low passes by.

Although this will not be an intense storm like Hurricane Michael last year, there still will be a couple of features we’ll be watching.

The first will be the potential for tornadoes Friday evening through Saturday morning. The second will be a storm surge along area beaches, where water levels will run 1 to 3 feet above normal, with some isolated spots getting 3 to 5 feet above normal.

The peak of that issue will be overnight Friday into the first half of Saturday.

Squally showers will exit Saturday with drier air moving in Saturday evening.

Sunday will be the nicer of the two weekend days with drier air and only a small chance for a couple isolated showers. Highs will be in the mid 80s.
