ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Coolest air of the season is moving in.

As an upper level trough swings into the Southeast U.S. tonight, the lingering front in south Florida will get pushed south and out of the state. Cooler and drier air will continue to filter in on north winds this evening through tonight over the Tampa Bay area.
Sunday morning will bring low temperatures in the low 60s for Tampa Bay to low 50s north! The afternoon will be partly sunny to mostly cloudy with low humidity. Low clouds will linger, since the layer of cool air will be very shallow. There will be at least a little breeze from the northeast. Highs in Tampa Bay will only reach around 80, with the Nature Coast staying in the upper 70s.

On Monday, the shallow cool air begins to erode away. Highs will get back into the 80s, but the humidity will stay decent since winds will be easterly. Small rain chances will return in the afternoon on the east winds. This pattern will continue for the work week. Temperatures will run above normal. There will be low rain chances each day as moisture returns overhead. Winds will be easterly to northeasterly through Thursday, so the humidity will not get as high as last week.
Another front approaches on Friday. Showers and possible storms will spread across the area ahead of the front. This will happen sometime on Friday to Friday night. It will be humid ahead of the cold front.
The front will move south of the area next Saturday. It will be windy and much cooler and drier.
