PASCO COUNTY, Fla. - Pasco County’s first reported coronavirus patient finally received a negative test but is not out of the woods yet.

Gene DellaSala got sick with coronavirus more than a month ago.

To be cleared to return to his normal life, he needs two negative tests to make sure the first one wasn’t a false negative.

This means he is still keeping his distance from his family in their home.

"So because my wife has really bad asthma, I don't want to risk giving this to her. I'm very blessed to not have given this anyone in my family. We've been following strict isolation protocols,” he said.

“It's almost like living in a bed and breakfast. My wife comes and brings me food to my room and she has gloves on and a mask on. It's hard, it's hard being away from family. But I'm willing to make this sacrifice not to get anybody sick."
