TAMPA, Fla. — USF Health and Hillsborough County have teamed up to make sure getting tested for Coronavirus is as convenient as possible.

"I think that it’s great that it’s here in the community and we have access to get tested," said Ronald Moore, who was tested at the Tampa site Friday.

Three new drive-thru testing sites have been opened across the county.

"This is very powerful, especially when you think about the need for screening in our community, and the need for a better understanding of COVID and who is at risk for developing COVID," said Dr. Haywood Brown, USF Health vice president of diversity, inclusion & equal opportunity.

Residents must be pre-screened and set appointments to get the free nasal swab tests at locations that have been added to the existing Raymond James Stadium site:

  • Lee Davis Community Resource Center, 3402 N. 22nd St., Tampa
  • Plant City Community Resource Center, 307 N. Michigan Ave., Plant City
  • SouthShore Community Resource Center, 201 14th Ave. SE, Ruskin

"I think it’s awesome," said Jodi Adair, who was tested Friday. "I’ve actually had a problem with a tooth that needs to be extracted and nobody will extract it until I get tested."

"It’s very important, I work in the childcare field so I want to make sure everyone is safe," said Sheila Riley, who was tested Friday.
