4:45 p.m. update: Deputies say the child's mother was attacked by the suspect at the home and beaten before he took off with the child.

Her neighbor told Spectrum Bay News 9's Trevor Pettiford said she woke up to the woman banging on her door and that the woman was bleeding and screaming for help.

Deputies said the mother is being treated for serious injuries at a local hospital. The son was not injured.

10:32 a.m. update: Michael Morris, the abducted 9-year-old, was located in Holiday and is safe, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. The suspect, Haralampos Savapoulos, was also located and taken into custody without incident.

Sheriff Chris Nocco said Savapoulos faces charges of aggravated battery and kidnapping. More charges could be filed, Nocco said.

The investigation is ongoing.

HOLIDAY, Fla. -- A Florida AMBER Alert has been issued for 9-year-old Michael Morris, who was last seen in the area of the 4000 block of Sail Drive in Holiday.

Law enforcement officials say Michael may be in the company of 50-year-old Haralampos Savopoulos. 

Officials say Michael was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and white shorts, and has an abrasion on his chin. The child has blonde hair and green eyes. 

Haralampos is described as having black hair and brown eyes. He is 5'09 and weighs 180 pounds. 

The pair may be traveling in a 2011 white Nissan Versa, with a FL tag number of PCWH01. 

Officials say if you see them, do not approach and call law enforcement immediately.
