TAMPA, Fla. — The school superintendent for Hillsborough County will be in quarantine for a while after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

Addison Davis announced Sunday that he decided to self-quarantine because of the exposure, and will stay in quarantine for 14 days since he last had contact with the individual. Davis had taken two tests, a rapid test and a laboratory test, and both came out negative.

Davis said he planned to continue to work remotely. 

Hillsborough County School District reported 594 COVID-19 cases since July 31 on its COVID-19 dashboard. On Friday the district reported 10 COVID-positive students and 10 COVID-positive employees.
