SPRING HILL, Fla. - Hernando County fire crews are fighting several brush fires on Barclay and Lawrence in Spring Hill.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
Barclay Avenue between Cortez Boulevard and Elgin Boulevard remains closed for the foreseeable future due to the fire.
The Florida Forestry Service has two bulldozers, two brush trucks, and multiple personnel at the scene.
There has been no word on evacuations in the area. The fire was described as fast-moving, and crews are working to protect nearby structures.
A spokeswoman with Hernando County Schools said buses for the afternoon will be re-routed to avoid the area.
