A boil water notice has been issued in Pasco County, and two area schools are affected.

All water used for drinking and cooking should be boiled for at least one minute at River Ridge High School and River Ridge Elementary School.

River Ridge Country Club, Rosewood of River Ridge and Sabalwood of River Ridge are also included in the notice.

The county says the water system in the area lost pressure when a contractor struck a water main Monday at the intersection of Town Center Rd. and Emery Dr.

The precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect "until normal water service is restored and tests show the water is safe."
