Congressional candidate William Braddock asked for a continuance in the case to review evidence. A new hearing is set for July 9.

Braddock was in court because of a temporary injunction filed against him by his political opponent, Anna Paulina Luna.

Luna says she has an audio recording of Braddock making death threats against her. Nurse Erin Olszewski also claims to have heard this and filed an injunction as well.

Luna and Olszewski appeared in court via Zoom and both are wanting the injunctions to be permanent.

Braddock and Luna are trying to win the Republican nomination for House District 13, which is being vacated by Democrat Charlie Crist, who is running for governor.

Amanda Makki, another candidate in the race, attended the hearing. She’s also accused by Luna as conspiring with Braddock.

“It’s an unfortunate situation. The gravity of the situation is such that discovery is important to find out what is actually going on,” Makki said to reporters after the hearing.

Makki ran against Luna in the 2020 primary that Luna won. Crist retained the seat in the general election.

The judge set another hearing for July 9 to allow both sides to give their evidence to each other.
