What You Need To Know

  • Pinellas County Department of Health hosting a drive-thru vaccine event today

  • Event will be held at HSN headquarters

  • The event is from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. No appointment is needed.

  • Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson will be offered

“The idea is you drive-thru, get the shot, just wait a few minutes to make sure there is no reaction, and then go about your day,” said Tom Iovino, Spokesman for the Florida Department of Health Pinellas County.

You don’t need an appointment, you don’t have to pay for the vaccine, and you don’t have to be an employee at HSN to receive a shot.

The Pfizer and the Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be offered. Those who choose the Pfizer vaccine will also be scheduled for their second dose.

Iovino said the Health Department has found with the flu shot that people are more likely to get it if it’s convenient, and this is one way they’re trying to get more people the COVID vaccine.

“The idea is that people are busy at work every day and when we can offer people an opportunity to not leave their place of employment, do it right there, it becomes extremely convenient so instead of having to take time off to go to a pharmacy to go get the shot, you can have it done right where you work and that's great,” said Iovino.

The drive-thru event is from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Everyone vaccinated will receive a $20 food voucher from the health department. HSN will also donate $10 for each shot given to John’s Hopkins All Children’s Foundation.
