“We started Eat Well, Age Well back in November as a way to teach our clients how to cook simple meals that they can do at home," said Taylor, Hillsborough County Aging Services.

Every third Friday of the month, Taylor hosts the Eat Well, Age Well cooking zoom class. It's for Hillsborough County residents who want to learn how to cook quick, affordable meals from home.

Fontaine Fosco signed up for the classes, and really likes learning about new dishes.

“Yes it does, because I am accomplishing something," said Fontaine Fosco, Age Well, Eat Well participant.

This week, she and others got to learn how to make a fresh cilantro pesto. It's the emphasis on fresh, Fosco also likes.

"I was like eating frozen food, but now I am learning how to cook real food," said Fosco.

Each lesson is about 10 to 15 minutes and it's free.

“No you can’t get cheaper than free. So, yeah it’s part of the program, and we encourage everyone that is interested to listen. They can listen. If they need help, if they need food assistance, they can always call us at out customer care line, and we’d be happy to help," said Taylor.
