LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Students at a middle school in Lee County had an unexpected visitor on Wednesday morning.

A 7-foot alligator made an appearance during drop-off at Lexington Middle School.

School resource officer and K9 handler Jennings, a former gator trapper, wrangled the gator, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said the alligator was taken to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), where it will be relocated to a safe area.
