PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — The road to recovery from Hurricane Ian is going to be a long one.

But starting Thursday, new disaster food assistance locations opened across the state to help people apply for help, including one in St. Petersburg at Tropicana Field.

This is for people impacted by Ian but not previously on SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).

The Tropicana Field site is open Thursday through Saturday for applicants to complete in-person interviews.

It's open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Residents are encouraged to pre-register online before going in person.

Residents of Pinellas County who pre-registered online but did not have a chance to complete their D-SNAP phone interview can visit the D-SNAP (Florida Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) location for an on-site interview. On-site interviews are not required if a phone interview was completed.

Online pre-registration will be available at www.myflfamilies.com/dsnap from Thursday, Nov. 3 through Saturday, Nov. 5.
