PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — The countdown to 2023 is on.

And to help ensure safety on the roads during the New Year’s Eve holiday, the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority is offering free rides on all routes all day and night.

What You Need To Know

In addition to giving free rides on all routes Saturday, select major routes will also offer rides extended into Sunday morning. Routes 4, 52, 60, the Central Ave Trolley, the Suncoast Beach Trolley, and the SunRunner will all continue service until 1 a.m.

The PSTA has done free New Year’s Eve rides for several years.

The difference this year is the agency is bringing in more drivers to work and extending service hours on popular routes like the sun runner until 1 a.m.

The free service isn't just for those that may drink more than they planned. It could help anyone plan out an entire evening without the stress of how to get home.

"If you want to take the SunRunner to see the beach and then go to the Pier to see the fireworks that's always an option too,” said Stephanie Rank with PSTA. “And we'll be there for them until 1 a.m."
