POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Two people were killed Tuesday morning in a five-vehicle crash in the Four Corners area of unincorporated Davenport.  

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened just after 6 a.m. in the northbound lanes of US Highway 27, just south of US 192.

In addition to the two people being killed, four others were injured, authorities said. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Northbound lanes remained closed for several hours after the crash. Southbound lanes remained open but also experienced significant delays.

The crash remains under investigation.
