1. Biden sending thousands of troops to Europe amid Ukraine tension
President Joe Biden is sending about 2,000 troops from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to Poland and Germany this week and sending part of an infantry Stryker squadron of roughly 1,000 troops based in Germany to Romania.
2. Gandy Bridge WB lanes to remain closed Wednesday after gas tanker overturned
“The westbound lanes of Gandy Boulevard at Westshore Boulevard could remain closed for several days. Please plan accordingly and use alternate routes,” the police stated.
3. Tampa Heights residents concerned over tremors from I-275 overpass project
Construction to widen the I-275 overpass on Floribraska Avenue has Tampa Heights residents waking up to loud noises and minor tremors in their homes.
4. Punxsutawney Phil predicts six more weeks of winter
Thousands of people gathered at Gobbler's Knob as members of Punxsutawney Phil's "inner circle" summoned him from his tree stump at dawn to learn if he had seen his shadow. After Phil's prediction was announced, the crowd repeatedly chanted "six more weeks!"
5. Orlando Sentinel: Florida Senate panel votes down exceptions for rape, incest in 15-week abortion ban
Doctors with Planned Parenthood told senators serious medical conditions could arise after 15 weeks of pregnancy, and women would not be able to have an abortion. Nonfatal fetal abnormalities could also occur.
6. Biden sets ambitious goal to cut cancer death rate in half, 'end cancer as we know it'
President Joe Biden will lay out a plan to relaunch the Cancer Moonshot initiative, with the ambitious goal of cutting the death rate from the disease in half over the next quarter of a century.
7. Washington NFL team picks Commanders as new name
