After starting the day with patchy fog, we are looking ahead to a mostly sunny afternoon.

It will be a nice beach day as temperatures climb to the upper 70s to low 80s at the coast. Inland spots will be warmer, reaching the mid to upper 80s this afternoon.

Wednesday will be windy and warmer ahead of an approaching cold front.

The front will stall near our area with showers and thunderstorms returning to Tampa Bay beginning Thursday afternoon.

1. Gov. DeSantis signs 'Parental Rights in Education' bill into law
The bill has garnered national attention and pushback from some in Florida. Opponents of the bill have dubbed it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

The bill was described as banning the word “gay” from public schools, even though the bill only calls for a ban on discussions of gender identity and sexual orientation in the K-3 grade levels or “in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students.

Tampa City Council Chairperson Orlando Gudes is facing accusations of inappropriate treatment towards a former aide.

3. Operational manual reveals max weight for Icon Park's Free Fall ride
Spectrum News obtained the ride's operational manual. According to the document, the maximum rider weight for Free Fall is about 286 pounds. The victim's father has said his son was well over 300 pounds. 

4. Empowering women through meditation, one podcast episode at a time
As the nation prepared to celebrate Women's History Month, Katie Krimitsos had her own reason to celebrate. The Women's Meditation Network, a network of podcasts she created in 2018, hit a major download milestone.

"It doesn't always equate to an actual person because the person might listen every single night. They might listen to a couple different episodes," Krimitsos said when asked about listener numbers. "But as of right now, we just hit a milestone for 40 million lifetime downloads over five different shows."

5. NASA test of Moon-class rocket pushes launch date of 1st all-private astronaut mission to the Space Station
A game of space rocket chicken ended on Monday, somewhat predictably, with NASA’s moon-class rocket needs taking priority over the launch of private astronauts to the International Space Station.

6. Body of missing Tampa woman found in rural Pasco County
The body of a missing South Tampa woman was found over the weekend in a rural area of Pasco County.According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, a body found on March 24 has been identified as 27-year-old Teneisha Griffith. The body was found in the area of Clay Sink Road and State Road 575 in Lacoochee.

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences says it condemns the actions of Will Smith during Sunday night's Oscars and it will launch a formal review of his slapping of presenter Chris Rock.
